(resolved) NetNewswire for Mac 6.1.9 won't update to 6.2

(I brought this up in Slack, but am bringing it back up here in case it is a larger issue than just me.)

I’m macOS 15.5, running on M4 Pro. I have Version 6.1.9 (6135) installed. Running “Check for updates” says I’m all up to date. No VPN. No Private Relay.

I am running a new iMac on Tahoe 26.2. I had to recycle my 2013 machine that had NetNewsWire app installed. Is there a copy of the app for macOS 26?

I’m not sure I understand what you’re asking (or, if it is related at all to this issue)? Perhaps you’ll want to start a new topic?

But, just in case, I think NNW for Mac 6.2 works well on macOS 26 but it isn’t for macOS 26. The app’s redesign for Liquid Glass I believe is coming in a future update.

I have no idea why it’s not updating — that’s all in Sparkle code, which isn’t something we touch. Since we have our own fork, it doesn’t update automatically either.

If you go to Preferences > Advanced and switch from Release builds to test builds (or the other way) does it update?

The current version of the app is 6.2.1, and it runs on macOS 26.

Switching to test builds did the trick. I’m not up-to-date. And I quickly switched back to Release Builds. I like a rock solid NNW experience which it has always delivered!

Thank you!

I didn’t see a way to mark a thread/topic as resolved so I edited the topic’s title. I hope that is ok.

there’s a Discourse plugin for that, I think it would be very useful to have it installed, cc @brent Discourse Solved - Plugin - Discourse Meta
