Open in Browser Option

Is it possible to consider adding an option to open items in Safari Web View by default?

I know I’m likely an outlier, it I prefer to open articles in Safari and then have the option of using Safari Reader View.

I’d like this behavior too. With some feeds, the content isn’t displayed correctly in the reader view because, for example, cookie settings need to be configured first. I have to open these feeds in the browser, which leads to constant switching back and forth.

I’d like it to work on macOS like it does on the iPad, where articles open in the web view (where I can enable the reader view) instead of the browser.

Do you have a(n) example feed I can try?

Hi, yes, for example: Golem.de

Another feed, where I have to open the articles in a browser, because I see only one of the user comments in the reader view in NetNewsWire: News | MacTechNews.de

MacTechNews seemed okay to me, but yeah, Golem doesn’t work (and does in Safari).

MacTechNews often does not work.

For example I see the comment from user Dunnikin for the article TechTicker: Sony TWEs mit besserem Noise Cancelling, Foto-Frame von BRAUN, MOMENT Foto-Filter, Satechi Maus und mehr | News | MacTechNews.de

This would be helpful for me too, I subscribe to some poetry newsletters and formatting is often lost or misinterpreted in reader views.

There is a feature request for this on the bug tracker: https://github.com/Ranchero-Software/NetNewsWire/issues/4376
