NNW Updates on macOS when logged in user isn't an admin

My main macOS user isn’t an admin. I do this for security reasons.

When NNW has updates, those updates prompt for an admin login, so I have to enter the credentials for a different admin account.

Could updates be changed so that an admin account is NOT required?

This is a Mac thing rather than a NetNewsWire thing. I doubt it’s something we could change.

One guess: if you install NetNewsWire to ~/Applications instead of /Applications it might work to update as non-admin. (But that’s just a guess.)
