New URL for Reddit Feeds

As of yesterday or there bouts reddit instituted a new URL scheme to subscribing to URL feeds. Don’t have clue how to change mine over the new schemes since changing the URL is also new to this old newbie. Any one around here know anything about it.

This must be why my NNW unread count has dropped through the floor.

@Raptor, do you know where Reddit points out the new URL scheme to use?

I haven’t seen it but you might check out r/rss Community or a Jeff Johnson blog post that he did a writeup on the subject. The problem with reddit is you have to keep going back to the old reddit in a lot of cases to get anything done.

Looks like what Jeff Johnson discovered is my situation. Thanks for that link.

So how would you go about changing it. This stuff is new to me. You can use raptor as example since I don’t use it on reddit? I was using “new/.rss?sort=new” at the end of the URL feed address.

Allow Editing Subscription URL for Existing Feeds · Issue #4890 · Ranchero-Software/NetNewsWire · GitHub looks to be what we wish existed.

Not sure yet which file(s) need to / can be edited to update the feed URLs.

You’d have to add the feeds as new feeds. (NetNewsWire identifies feeds by URL — a new URL is a new feed.)

Thanks brent. I doubt at the moment I’ll be adding anthing in the near future. I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it.

The man himself. Thanks for the response, Brent. :hugs:

Been a NNW user pretty much since the beginning, good sir. Thanks for your time and effort.
