MacOS NetNewsWire 7.0.5 (Build 7054) doesn’t remember window sizes/placement. every time it’s restarted, the window goes back to the freshly-installed size/placement. macOS 26.5 RC
Strange. I do believe you but for further info, I can’t reproduce this problem using the same version of NNW on macOS 26.2 (25C56)
Sounds like an Apple bug! Let’s see if they fix it for the release version of 26.5.
Installed the released version (build 25F71) and it still reverts window size/placement. It’s merely an annoyance, as I restart NetNewsWire so infrequently. I’ll just wait for Apple to fixit.
I’m on 26.5 right now and I can’t reproduce this — it works normally for me.
Do you have anything unusual going on? Multiple windows, multiple monitors? Collapsed sidebar?
I logged out, turned off reopen windows, logged back in and started ONLY NetNewsWire and adjusted the window how I like it.
It kinda looks like the Window->Move & Resize->Top Left (quarters) menu item got automatically selected. I have since updated to 26.5 and I also still don’t have this issue.
I just tried that, and you’re right! I get that result. I tried Window>Center after that and got mostly what I prefer. I had to widen the middle column.
And then I quit NetNewsWIre and restarted it, and it kept the window size and location!! What the what?!
