Larger Font Size Option In Feed List and Article List

It’s great that the articles can have themes and sizes. However, the font for the feed list is quite small and hard to read for those of us on the “older side”. Similarly the article list (not the articles) also use a small font. Neither can be configured. Preferences for larger font sizes for those two lists would be hugely appreciated.

Thank you for considering it.

Already possible — pull down control centre, long press on text size, set to NetNewsWire only, and increase the text size.

I’m sorry. I was referring to the app on the Mac. I looked in Control Center on the Mac, but I don’t see anything like that. Sorry - can you point me to it?

Ah! Then no, the timeline and sidebar don’t support larger text sizes on the Mac.

I think the Settings screen on iOS should somehow offer these instructions. If I were to offer a suggestion, my first spitball idea would be for, under “Appearance”, there be a row with the heading “Text Size” and explanatory text like “NetNewsWire supports the system-wide Dynamic Type size settings in Settings → Display & Brightness → Text Size. The easiest way to adjust this setting, including the option to specify a text size specifically for NetNewsWire, is via Control Center.” And then add a “Learn More…” button that links to a tech note with screenshots showing the Control Center Text Size interface.

Instead of narrowing the instructions just to text size, I’d suggest expanding it to: Settings → Accessibility → Per-App Settings → Add App → NetNewsWire

Then the user gets to customise extensively…

I’m a little confused - are we still talking about font sizes for the Mac (my original concern)? Or are we now talking about improving Settings on iOS? It’s unfortunate that the Mac doesn’t have Accessibility settings for fonts.

I could try implementing something for font sizes for the timeline and sidebar on the Mac and then make a pull request. Or would it be better to file a GitHub issue? I tried to build, but I ran into issues (which I also posted about) - I could probably hack around it to experiment, but haven’t tried yet.
