I really like the Themes that everybody’s built but I find that after a little while I tire of seeing a mix of the default fonts and colors in the feed and article lists and sidebar the styles set in the article by the theme. So I switch back to the default.

I wonder if the themes could specify the font and colors for the sidebar and feed list to make the style more uniform across the app. I wouldn’t expect themes to be able to stylize the layout of the lists themselves, but just to make the rest of the app feel more like the theme.

We may add some customization settings for sidebar and timeline in the future. Most likely we’d make those user customizations (in the Settings window/screen) instead of linked to the theme.

Great, thanks @Brent. I’d love for any new customizations to be able to apply globally (sidebar, timeline, article) so the whole interface is consistent.

Should I file a issue on GitHub to track this?

Ideally the setting would go in the other direction. UI theme properties defined in the app exposed as CSS custom properties themes could opt into using.

@blackketter No need for a GitHub issue — there are already issues for various customizations.
