I use Firefox as my default browser, and this feature stopped working with one of the recent updates. If I choose Safari as my browser, it works fine… but Firefox, Chrome, and Edge all pop up in the foreground (whether holding down shift or not).

I’ve tried toggling the feature, restarting the app, restarting the system, restarting the browsers.

NetNewsWire 7.2.1
MacOS GoldenGate 27.0.1
Firefox 158.0.1
Edge 155.0.4283.62
Chrome 156.0.8078.48
Safari 27.0.1

Love this app! Cheers!

Chris

Unfortunately this is a bug in the various browsers and there’s nothing we can do.

In the case of Chrome and Chrome-like browsers, it’s a long-standing bug.

In the case of Firefox it’s a recent bug and there’s already a ticket in their system to fix it.

More info about this on the bug tracker: [https://github.com/Ranchero-Software/NetNewsWire/issues/5492](https://github.com/Ranchero-Software/NetNewsWire/issues/5492)

Thanks! Looks like there might be a fix coming in Firefox 159 or 160.

Cheers!
