When you use NetNewsWire in dark mode and open a web page from within the app that also supports dark mode, a bright, blank, white page is still briefly displayed upon opening before it switches to dark mode. This is very distracting—for example, when you’re reading in the dark and are suddenly blinded by a bright flash of light for a split second. Is there any way to prevent this?

Is this on Mac or iOS? Or both?

iOS, I made a screen recording on my iPhone, but couldn’t find a way to upload the file here.

Is there any way to post or send my screen recording from this uncomfortable bright flashing?

I’m not sure there’s anything we can do about this one.

We open the web page using an SFSafariViewController — which is the standard way of displaying a Safari-like view inside an app. What happens next is largely opaque to us. The system handles the fetching and rendering.

I created an issue anyway so that we can do further investigation: [https://github.com/Ranchero-Software/NetNewsWire/issues/5383](https://github.com/Ranchero-Software/NetNewsWire/issues/5383)
