# How NetNewsWire is monetised?

I am just wondering, why? Why provide this app for free?

I know that it is hard to monetise such app. But you giving away alot of hard work. I am just wondering what is your reasoning behind it, if there is any?

In anyway. Thanks you for providing this for free.

NetNewsWire makes no money (and only costs me a few hundred bucks a year). It write it for love, because I think it’s important to have a free and open source RSS reader for Mac and iOS, and that’s a thing I’m good at doing.

To be clear about "no money” — I don’t mean little money. I mean not one single penny. By design 🙂
