Feedly Sync Not Happening

I’m having an issue with sync with Feedly from my iPad (Air - 5th generation). This may or may not go back to installing iOS 27 beta (I installed the iOS beta a couple weeks ago).

The last few weeks the iPad marks things correctly within NetNewsWire on the iPad. However, Feedly is not updated.

Feedly Issues:

Whole lotta these:

[2026-09-13 21:45:21] Feedly — Sending article status: Could not read from the syncing database. (Account.FeedlyAccountDelegateError 10) (Account/FeedlyAccountDelegate.swift:performStatusSend(for:):403)

A few of these:

[2026-09-14 07:56:32] Feedly — Refreshing feed list: The request timed out. (NSURLErrorDomain -1001) (Account/FeedlyAccountDelegate.swift:refreshFeedList(for:):970)

[2026-09-14 07:56:36] Feedly — Refreshing article status: The request was not sent because syncing is suspended. (RSWeb.WebserviceError 4) (Account/FeedlyAccountDelegate.swift:refreshArticleStatusReturningCounts(for:includeStarred:):484)

iPad Local Feeds

Some of these, but since these are the ones on the iPad, not sure if that relates.

[2026-09-14 07:56:32] On My iPad — Downloading feed: DARING FIREBALL LINK The request timed out. (NSURLErrorDomain -1001) (Account/LocalAccountRefresher.swift:reportFeedRefreshError(feed:error:activityKind:):385)

Troubleshooting Steps:

  • Fully quit NetNewsWire. Reopened
  • On the iPad: General | Settings | iPad Storage | NetNewsWIre - tapped “Offload App”. Then tapped “Reinstall App”
  • On the iPad: General | Settings | NetNewsWire - toggled "Background App Refresh off. Waited 1 minute, toggled it back on

None of those have resolved the issue.

Feedly Database:

Last Resort:

I’m guessing that I’ll need to disconnect Feedly and then reconnect. This will mean that I’ll lose my “correct” read status, but is probably the only path at this time.

Thanks

I do want to note how much I appreciate NetNewsWire. It is a terrific program and I’m very Thankful for it.

OK. I deleted the Feedly Account from the iPad.

NetNewsWire makes it wonderfully simple to mark as Read, so I used the “Mark Below as Read” feature to “catch up”.

Unfortunately, no love at this point.

Error Log:

[2026-09-14 19:22:45] Feedly — Sending article status: Could not read from the syncing database. (Account.FeedlyAccountDelegateError 10) (Account/FeedlyAccountDelegate.swift:performStatusSend(for:):403)

How much free hard drive space do you have on your iPad? This could be a disk issue.

If it looks like plenty of disk space left, try actually deleting (not offloading) NetNewsWire, then reinstalling from the App Store (Offloading doesn’t actually delete anything.)

(In the meantime I’m adding some additional diagnostics to 7.1.4 so we can get more info if this persists.)

Thanks for the response. I truly appreciate NetNewsWire and all the work that you’ve done on the program.

  • I currently have 131.51GB available on the iPad.
  • I deleted NetNewsWire and reinstalled.

I made changes (marked items older than today) in one Feed Folder. This seemed to then be reflected in Feedly on the web. However, further changes did not seem to be reflected.

  • Deleted NetNewsWire. Shut down iPad. Reinstalled NetNewsWire. Added Feedly to NetNewsWire (noticed that I picked the Google Account, but did not have to authorize on the Feedly panel within NetNewsWire).

Made changes in a larger Folder Feed on NetNewsWire. Reduced Unread articles from over 3,000 to 300. Checked Feedly on the web. Changes were not reflected. Tried refreshing the Feedly web page, closing the web page, refreshing NetNewsWire, reopening Feedly…changes are still not reflected in Feedly.

If you run the new TestFlight beta, it may start working — or at least it should give us more info in the error log.

If you’re not on the TestFlight beta, here’s how to start using it: https://netnewswire.com/help/beta-testing.html

Again, Thanks so much.

Apparently, the last NetNewsWire version in Test Flight that I have is from August 14, 2020.

The only buttons that I have are Beta Program Website (link to website) of “Stop Testing”

Do the Stop Testing, and then sign up here for TestFlight for NetNewsWire:

https://netnewswire.com/test-ios.html

Awesome. Deleted version on iPad. Installed Test Flight version.

Early results looking very positive.

Huzzah, Cheers, and Thanks.
