App data size vs db size

First post! And a question - I went into iOS settings under General → iPhone Storage and see NetNewsWire takes up 1.41GB of space. The app itself is 25.2MB but the Data and Documents takes up 1.38GB. In the NetNewsWire app under Settings, the Account Stats shows a combined 101.2MB of database space used. Is there some other data being stored that can account for the 1.2GB of data storage locally?

There are other caches involved which contribute to storage. The favicons and feed images are cached on disk. The system also does caching for images and other resources shown in article views. Images, in particular, add up to a lot of disk space quickly.
